Juventus fans no doubt wish Gianluigi Buffon could be around forever. That obviously won’t be the case, but they may at least get him for much longer than anticipated with the goalkeeper claiming he could keep on playing until he is 65 years old.

The veteran goalkeeper turns 39 next month and has a contract with Juventus until the end of next season, but the Italian still has no plans to hang up his gloves.

‘I still do not feel like an old guy at the age of 38,’ he told Tuttosport.

‘Will I say farewell to the game in 10 years’ time or in 15 years’ time? Who knows, I might retire at the age of 65.’
